Overview:

This position is filled by a Tax professional who, as a result of both educational and practical experience in the area of Tax Compliance, Tax Accounting and Tax Law, possesses advanced knowledge to support the Sr. Director of Tax and Europe Director of Tax managing the areas of International Tax and Transfer Price for Cephalon US group and foreign subsidiary entities.

This position will have primary responsibility managing US international tax compliance and reporting of Cephalon’s foreign subsidiaries. The qualified individual will oversee all aspects of Cephalon’s global transfer pricing policies. Additional responsibilities include assisting in or managing international tax planning strategies to maintain and improve effective tax rate, performing tax research, contributing to acquisitions and related strategies and assisting tax team members in US and foreign tax examinations.



Responsibilities:

Oversee Cephalon’s Global Transfer Pricing Policies including contemporaneous compliance and reporting while furthering the developing of policies, procedures and databases of intercompany and third party distribution, services, collaboration and other similar agreements. Assist in review of new agreements for compliance with transfer pricing guidelines.

With appropriate internal and external staff resources this individual will manage annual US international tax compliance and reporting of Cephalon’s foreign subsidiaries. Efforts in compliance and reporting include coordinating information from US and foreign subsidiaries and internal functional areas.

Develop technical knowledge in both US federal and certain international tax statutes and other authorities, including but not limited to transfer pricing regulations.

Support global supply chain through modeling templates using financial data by product and legal entity, while documenting global product flows and “pipeline” of products from research and development phases through commercial production.

As experience permits, assist provide support to US and EU compliance and controversy teams on international, federal and state tax inquires and responses regarding transfer price.

Support the Sr Director, Tax identifying, modeling and documenting support for global, state and international planning opportunities, strategies and planning projects.

Assist US based tax accounting and reporting team in review of tax accruals for domestic and foreign entities including quarterly and annual review of FIN 48 tax accruals.

Assist with assimilation of newly-acquired companies and transition to conform to Cephalon’s transfer pricing model and policy.

Experience in US federal and SALT compliance and tax examinations, especially related to transfer pricing.



Qualifications:

BS required; MS, CPA or other advanced degree in accounting, finance, law or economics preferred.

Demonstrated technical competence, experiences and advanced knowledge of U.S. Tax Law regarding US and global transfer pricing, US compliance/reporting of foreign subsidiaries is required.

Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain tax projects and tax planning while coordinating timelines through effective communications among the Tax, Finance, Legal, and Operational Groups.

Demonstrated effective skills as a self-starter required.

Demonstrated effective PC skills including Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Demonstrated responsibility for own continuing education and training is required.

Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.

Position requires between 10% - 20% domestic and international travel.
